Pauline Paquet
Francophone Teacher - 5th/6th grade
After a Master's degree in Arts and Cultural Industries, Pauline participated in the Comenius project for a year as a primary school assistant in Manchester. The Comenius project aims to promote cooperation between schools in a European context, to develop open-mindedness and tolerance.
She took a PGCE (Post Graduate Certificate of Education) at the University of Manchester to become a teacher of French as a foreign language. In 2012, she obtained a position as a French teacher in a secondary school in South East London. There she learned to plan and deliver creative, cross-curricular, dynamic and engaging lessons using a wide range of activities, including interactive whiteboards. As well as teaching foreign languages, she also tutored students with learning difficulties in English grammar and maths.
After three years, she was promoted to head of the French department. She managed a small department and worked closely with the teaching staff. As part of her duties she helped train and mentor trainee teachers. Between February and April 2018, back in France, she worked as a substitute teacher at the International School of Paris.
While looking for different educational structures in Paris, she discovered the LabSchool project which appealed to her as much for its innovative aspect as for its bilingual aspect. She has been working there as a teacher since April 2018.
